Ease of Set Up
Setting up this tent is easy. Even first-timers will be amazed at the ease. This is largely due to the DAC press-fit poles coupled with color-coded straps and clips that make it easy to assemble the tent.
You also get a full-coverage fly that is easily tied down by secure side-release buckles then guyed out as required.
With a minimum weight of 5.12 lbs., the Trail Ridge 3 is considerably lighter than most 3 person tents. While heavier than an average two-person tent, the tent can be a great asset if you are traveling in pairs and are looking for something light with extra space in it.
The tent packs into a 7 by 24 inch package that you can easily fit in a backpack alongside your sleeping bag. For those traveling, the lightweight feature and neat packaging is an advantage.
Thanks to the mesh walls and adjustable vents in the fly, you can enjoy a comfortable sleep inside this tent. Those who enjoy a clear night’s view can do just that thanks to the full mesh canopy without the annoying bugs of course, but it comes at a price of compromised privacy.
Like any other Kelty tent, the Trail Ridge 3 is built to last. The 68D Polyester wall and floor fabric guarantee that your tent not only remains dry but also does fall apart after a rough weekend.
The DAC Pressfit aluminium poles do a great job of stabilizing the tent even during high winds. They are known to be highly efficient and long-lasting.
The tent comes with a thin polyester floor that ensures your tent remain dry even during heavy downpour. Despite this, you are advised to use an optional footprint for best results especially when camping in an area full of twigs.
Packing an interior space of up to 44ft, this tent ensures that all 3 of you get ample sleeping place and moving in and out is a breeze. You also get valuable additional storage space with the vestibule.
